Hip Arthritis

Winnie is a 6 year old Golden Retriever who was rescued 10 kilograms over weight with a very unusual ‘wiggle’ when she walked. She is now at a perfect weight but has been showing signs of discomfort when playing with her new, boisterous, younger brother. We identified her areas of discomfort through her reluctance to have her back legs extended. The owners now have Pilates exercises to do at home to build up her muscles and now knows the small signs of discomfort Winnie shows to identify when she is uncomfortable.

Pain Reactivity

Pablo is a 3 year old Labrador Retriever who started to show signs of reactivity. He had a history of abdominal surgery and was referred by his GP vet to a Veterinary Behaviourist who in turn recommended a Physiotherapist to rule out musculoskeletal pain. We worked alongside an Orthopedic Surgeon specialising in rehabilitation, to rule out spinal and muscular pain. We then referred him back to the GP vet for an 8 week pain relief trial which is currently ongoing, with videos of his gait to analyse for improvement.

Working dog Check up

Feebe is a classic 3 year old spaniel who shows no signs of any discomfort and keeps going (very speedily!) through any niggles she may have. In a routine MOT we highlighted some stiffness in her shoulders which her owners were not aware of. She will come back for a routine check up every few months so we can identify and alleviate any issues she may feel but not quite show.
